There are many reasons why you may have developed a bunion including wearing the wrong shoes that are tight and narrow (especially high heels). Arthritis, previous foot injuries, occupational lifestyle and even genetics. Yes genetics! Bunions often progess over time if not managed, leadig to increased pain and difficulty wearing shoes. Some people can manage life  by altering shoes with a wider shoe, trying orthotics or utalizing a padding or toe spacer. For those  with more pain which interferes with daily life surgery can be an option. 

Common Signs & Symptoms

  • A visible bump on the side of the foot

  • Pain or tenderness

  • Redness and swelling

  • Stiffness in the big toe

  • Corns or calluses where toes rub together
